How Stitch Fix Solved My Not-Being-Able-To-Shop Problem
This post contains affiliate links for products I love + adore. Read my disclaimer for more details.
Being a mom of two small kids, it’s hard for me to get out and go shopping for myself. I can’t even remember the last time I stepped foot into a women’s fashion store or fitting room. I merely shop for groceries and cleaning supplies. It’s not fun, but food and diapers are a little more important than having a new pair of jeans.
That’s why I LOVE Stitch Fix. I pay for someone else to do my shopping.
I set it up, I get a beautifully packaged box right to my door, and inside I find 5 pieces hand-selected specially for me.
It is literally like Christmas Day.
Basically Stitch Fix works like this:
1. Set up an account and take the style quiz
Your stylist wants to know everything about you so she can send you looks you love (and fit into) every time. Inside your style profile, you will answer questions about your body shape and size, what complements your figure, and which style types you love or hate. Some women prefer classy while others prefer bohemian chic. Whatever you like will be made clear to your stylist when you complete the quiz. You can also make special requests like “the cheaper, the better” or “looking for only jeans.”
2. Request a “fix”
Choose a day to have your box delivered to your home, and that’s pretty much it! Your stylist will review your profile and get to work on selecting 5 pieces with your body and style in mind. All you have to do is pay $20 for a styling fee, but this will later get applied to your final total.
3. Keep the items you want or send them back
Along with your items, your stylist will provide a prepaid return bag for any items you want to ship back. If you don’t feel like the piece speaks to you or could fit you better, it’s as easy as placing it into the bag and dropping it into your mailbox or nearest USPS drop box. On the other hand, if you love your pieces, simply keep them! After three days, you will be charged for only the items you keep (minus that $20 you already paid). The rest will be forgotten about!
It’s that easy! The downside is that some items can be a little pricey, but when you keep all 5 items, you’re given a 25% discount, which helps a lot.
I’ve used Stitch Fix for 3 years now and will continue as long as they keep satisfying me. I always get compliments on the clothes, and they do great wash after wash. I’ve never had any problems. But most importantly, I love using the service because it allows me to keep an updated wardrobe and inspires me to try looks I probably wouldn’t try out for myself.
If you’re interested, you can use my code and have your $20 fee waived.
That means it’s totally risk-free because if you hate everything (which I promise you won’t), you can send everything back and be charged absolutely nothing.
Oh and if you do, please come back and share your experience! Did you like it? Love it? I’d love to know.
